FFA Tractor Driving Competition

The tractor driving CDE (Career Development Event) is a long-standing competitive event for South Carolina FFA members to show their abilities to safely and effectively operate a tractor and trailer. Students are scored based on three criteria: Time, safety and driving ability. The course is made up of multiple maneuvers that would be normal in a farm or producer setting. Students must drive through a gate, weave through a pole barn, turn around and come back through the same barn and gate in order to pull in an alley, then back into a space that is only 2 feet wider than the widest part of the rig. The student that can complete the course the fastest and with the fewest safety and maneuvering violations is the winner.
